Send Your NewsSend Your News to Action Change! Action Change welcomes contributions for all sections of the e-mag. Read a current issue to get an idea on content and style, and then go through the contents page for regular features and columns. I accept any form of writing that spurs, inspires, ignites, and entertains readers on the topic of global change and people as agents of change. It can be an article, a news story you’ve heard about, people profiles, events, a product profile, a letter to the editor, book reviews, opinion pieces, green tips, or humour. I also accept art works such as cartoons, photos and graphics pertaining to the theme, as long as you have copyright permission and a signed model release form. Keep the tone of your piece positive. For example, if you are writing about the nuclear debate, write mainly about how wonderful clean, green energy is, rather than how bad nuclear energy is. The same goes for actions. Ask people to be involved in creating a wonderful world, rather than asking them to stop the world blowing up. This is often the reason why people feel overwhelmed and don’t act for change, because it all seems too hard and too foreboding. If you are writing about a particular technique for personal change, include case studies of people who have actually experienced the technique and have benefited from it. Please keep all articles to a maximum of two A4 pages including artwork, in Times New Roman, 12 point. No need to double space. Each submission needs to be accompanied by a separate bibliography when appropriate, and all statistics, quotes etc need to be sourced. Define all abbreviations and acronyms on first reference. Define all technical and unfamiliar terms to general readers who may not be scientists, practitioners etc. A short paragraph biography of the writer should be included at the end of the article, and you also a photo. Please also tell me where you are from (city/country). The magazine reserves the right to edit all submissions for clarity and/or brevity, and will contact the author if major changes are being considered. There is currently no payment for submissions, but author’s/sender’s names will appear on snippets, and photos and contact details with links to your website will appear with each longer story.
